I have tons of pictures to show you. Let’s start two weeks ago in Strasbourg, on the French-German border:
And into the Black Forest… doesn’t look so menacing from here… just wait:
My first stop is Haslach, on the fringes of the forest:
Next, Triberg, in the heart of the Schwarzwald:
That’s more like it.
Triberg main street:
At the other end of main street is Germany’s highest waterfall, or so they claim:
OK now this is creepy - a road leading into darkness. Especially when you’re on a hike, and lost, and wondering whether to keep going. (I did. It led to a yuppie summer home development.)
UGH:
Ahhh:

In Berlin right now, pictures to come soon… so far it’s been a very, very intriguing city. It didn’t blow me away instantly like Paris or Barcelona did, but the more time I spend here, the more I realize that there is a lot of cool stuff going on under the surface. Since most of the city was rebuilt from scratch in the last 20 years, people - especially artists - have made it their own.
OK it’s 4am. I’m done.
