A slight change to the itinerary
I hate to say it, but I’m beginning to get a little tired of European capital after European capital. They’re all so exciting and beautiful and one-of-a-kind that it’s impossible to avoid getting jaded.
I need to go outside, wake up at dawn, and get covered in dirt. It’s time for some manual labor.
That’s why I spent a couple hours online yesterday and got in touch with a farm/campsite/hostel in rural Bulgaria. I set up a 10 day workstay for mid-August. It looks like a great place to volunteer - lots of travelers pass through there and lend a hand in exchange for room and board. The town is so small that actually getting there might be a challenge but I’ll figure that out when the time comes.
The farm will be my last stop before Istanbul, the final city of the trip. Of course, I have a few more European capitals to get through before I make it to the farm (Prague, Vienna, Budapest)… but I think I’ll survive.
